DIY Vintage Inspired Family Bell Jars

Hi guys! As some of you know by now, my little bell jars are nothing new around here. My small obsession with them started with this post last Christmas. They are so fun to make, I have been making some for just about every holiday since. In fact, there will be some Halloween jars coming soon to the blog. I thought it would be fun to make some to display some of my favorite family photos year round. Check em’ out:

Here’s What You Need:

*Plastic Wine Glasses

*Dremmel with a cutter wheel

*Chipboard

*Scrapbook paper

*Scallop Punch

*Rubber Cement

*Family Pictures

*Hot Glue and Glue gun

*Beads, buttons, fabric flowers

*Paper Scrapbooking flowers, charms

*Yarn

Instructions:

You can find the full tutorial on how to make my christmas jars here. The basic design and steps are the same. You cut the stems off of your glasses. Then you punch your chipboard and paper and attach the paper with rubber cement to make your bottom. You then cut out your photo and fold the bottom under a little and then glue down the picture by the tab. I printed my photos out on cardstock and made them to be about 2.5″ tall. Once you have your photo in the middle of your base, you can add embellishments like the little flowers or plastic puppy I added to mine. Now you are ready to close up your jar. Run a bead of hot glue around the rim of your glass, then press onto the base making sure you place it evenly so it is centered. Then glue the bead, flower, buttons on the top of the cut stem of the glass. To finish off these jars, you need to glue and wrap a little yarn around the base of the glass and the top of the glass under the topper. And that’s it.

I LOVE these little jars! They are so sweet and it is a great way to display those memories and people you love so much! These look really sweet displayed on a shelf with your books, or even in a grouping. They would make a really sweet gift too for family members, weddings photos, or for a new baby. I hope some of you will give this one a try, they are really so much fun to make! I will be adding kits for all of my bell jars to my store very soon. I’ll be back next week with more fun diy projects. Until then…

Happy Crafting!
