DIY Easy Upcycled Vintage Fabric Holiday Hoop Art
One of my favorite things in the whole world, as some of you may have guessed by now, is vintage linens! I am nuts about them! And vintage Christmas linens are no exception! I have bunches of Christmas cutter tablecloths that I like to craft with during the holidays. I always end up with bits and scraps that just sit around. So, this year, I thought I’d use some of my favorite scraps for a little hoop art collage!
Here’s What You Need:
*Vintage Scrap Fabric Linens or other Christmas Fabric
*Embroidery Hoops
*Scissors
*Fabric Glue
*Hot Glue
*Trim
*Ribbon
*Paint
Instructions:
Pick hoops to fit your scraps. Paint your outer hoops the way you like to match the colors in your fabrics.
Gather your scraps up while the paint is drying.
Spread a little fabric glue on the outside of your inner hoop.
Lay your fabric over your hoop and stretch over as much as you can with your hand.
Lay the outer hoop over the fabric and tighten the screw. Stretch and pull the fabric tight and keep tightening the screw until the hoop is closed as much as you can and the fabric is firm and tight.
Repeat with your other hoops.
Flip over your hoops and cut off the excess fabric as close to the frame as you can.
If you want to add trim, run a little hot glue on the back of your hoop and glue down the trim a little at a time all the way around.
I am so in love with this little hoop collection! I think they all look adorable together! I can’t wait to hang them on the wall! You could easily turn the small ones into Christmas ornaments by just tying a loop on the top for hanging. They were so easy to whip up, and make an awesome Christmas display! I used vintage tablecloth scraps, but you can use any kind of Christmas fabric you have on hand. Have fun with it and customize it to your space! I’ll be back next week with more fun Christmas crafts! Until then…
Happy Crafting!
