3-DSC_1195Hey everyone! I‘m not typically big on New Year’s resolutions. I don’t like to beat myself up too much if I don’t pull through with it. I set little goals all the time and a few big goals here and there. One of my goals I started working on last year was becoming a more fit and healthier person. I have a Fit Bit Flex tracker and I love it! I used to wear it every day to keep myself aware of my activity and calorie levels. Then I started wearing it only when I exercise and using the app as a food tracker. One of the reasons I stopped wearing it all the time was that I felt it was rather ugly. I slipped a bit over the holidays like I usually do, and I realized how much wearing my band keeps me accountable. So, I thought I would try torestyle a couple of my bands to make them a little more my style. Here’s my how-to:

What You Need:

*Fit Bit Flex Bands

*Studs, Gems, Charms, etc…

*E6000

*Eyelet punch (optional)

I had a few extra bands to work with, so I did a couple of different styles. I used a large brass charm used in leather bracelet making that I got from Michael’s for my first band. I wrapped a little twine around the ends and glued it to the top of my old band with some E6000. With my navy blue band, I glued some iron on brass pyramid studs to the band all the way around with some E6000. For the aqua band I used the screw back silver conical studs. What I did was punch 3/16″ holes into the band with my eyelet punch. Then I took the top of the studs and pushed them up through the holes. I did not end up needing the backs since they fit snugly into the rubber of the bracelet. You can add on or glue any studs or gems you like onto your bands. Get creative with it and make it fit your style!

So I love how these turned out and I will definitely be wearing my Flex more now! My favorite one is the navy with the brass pyramid studs! It stacks well with other bracelets and I like the extra styling without the chunk of the other studded one. I think I may try one with gems if I end up getting another pack of bands. I still have one plain band that I wear to work out in. So, if you have a Flex or another type of fitness tracker and have some extra bands, try giving them a little facelift! I think you’ll love it! It’s a fun mix of style and health! I’ll be back next week with another fun DIY. Until then…

Happy Crafting!
