Thankgiving Bell Jar Place Cards
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you all are having an amazing day watching the Macy’s parade and cooking up a storm! Today I wanted to take a break from the holiday crafting to share a little Thanksgiving project with you all! Last year I shared these fun Word search place cards for your Thanksgiving table. This year I made these fun little Turkey Tom and Pumpkin Bell Jar place card holders. These were really quick to whip up. In fact, I made them in just under an hour after dinner a couple of nights ago. They are really easy too!
Here’s What You Need:
*Plastic Wine Glasses
*Dremmel fit with a cutting wheel
*Scrapbook Paper
*Chipboard
*3″ Scallop Punch
*Rubber Cement
*Hot Glue
*Pumpkin and Turkey Cupcake Toppers
*Fall confetti (I got these felt leaves at Michaels)
*Glass Beads Large
*Medium Gage Wire
*Wire cutters and benders
*Yarn
Instructions:
You can find the full tutorial from my original Christmas Bell Jar ornaments that I made last year Here. Here is how these differ. Instead of using glitter to fill the bottom, drop some confetti in the jar. I used felt leaf confetti from Michaels. Before you glue the beads down to the top, you will need to make the wire card holders. Cut a length of wire about 6 inches long. Grab one end with your round nose benders. Loop the wire around the benders once, then hold the loop and loop the wire around several times to form a spiral pattern. Next, insert the other end of the wire through the bead. Cut the wire about 1/4″ below the bead and loop then bend it to the underside of the bead. Now you are ready to glue the bead down to the top of the jar. Glue the end of your yarn down to the bottom of the jar on the backside. Add a few drops of glue around the bottom, and then lay the yarn around the jar bottom and glue down at the back end and snip the excess. Glue the yarn to the top of the jar and wrap around the top several times then snip close to the back end and glue the tail down. Your jar is complete. Now make your own place cards, or print some out. I cut mine to be 3×2.5″ and wrote the names with a gold sharpie. Insert your cards into the wire holder on the top of each jar. And that’s it. Now you just need to put the jars at the table where you want your guests to sit.
These place card holders make me smile! Thanksgiving is really the only time we use place cards, and I always have so much fun setting the table. These jars will make a fun addition to our Thanksgiving table this year. I hope some of you will give this one a try for next Thanksgiving, you’ll love them! I am off to the kitchen. I wish you all the best of Thanksgiving wishes! Enjoy the day with the ones you love most! I’ll see you all tomorrow for my final 12 Days of Christmas Craft and a gift guide for all you animal lovers. Until then…
Have the Happiest of Happy Thanksgivings!
