Favorite Vintage Finds of the Week- May 19th
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a beautiful weekend! When I was twelve, my mom rented me what was to become one of my favorite movies of all time, Funny Face. I instantly fell in love! I always loved old musicals, but this one had all of my favorites wrapped up into one! It starred my favorite dancer, Fred Astaire, and one of my favorite actresses of the time, Audrey Hepburn, as well as Eloise author and all around fabulous gal, Kay Thompson. But I think what I loved the most was the fashion and costumes, designed by the famous Edith Head, that epitomized the style of the era, my favorite era! Today, I thought I would curate a little collection of vintage finds from Etsy’s wonderful world of vintage shops inspired by the film. Check em’ out:
Take a peek at the original trailer!

So funny, I’m reading this post today, June 9th. My hubby was away last week and I was up late looking for something to watch on TV and I ran across “Funny Face” and was so excited. I love both Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire (although I thought he seemed too old for her in this movie, which he was – by 30 years (I looked it up, heehee)! I don’t think I’ve ever seen the whole thing, especially the opening with all the awesome vintage fashion eye candy! Here’s a link to 25 facts about the movie – interesting! Now I want to watch all of Hepburn’s movies again! By the way, I love all your ‘vintage finds’, thanks for sharing! (o; Mary
That’s so funny Mary! I always thought he was too old for her too! He was a bit old in Daddy Long Legs for Leslie Caron as well. Thanks so much for the moviefone link! That was awesome! Enjoy catching up on some fabulous Audrey movies 🙂
Oops, forgot the link, here it is!
